Were you one of the many players who jumped on the Battlefield 1 Beta? A remarkable 13.2 million people joined the Battlefield 1 Beta between 30th August to 8th September, making it the most successful EA beta in history, according to the publisher.

This figure dwarfs that of other successful open betas; Destiny had 4.6 million players, The Division had 6.4 million players whilst Star Wars Battlefront hit 9.5 million. That is seriously impressive, and great news for EA & DICE, as each of those 3 games went on to sell more than the beta player number in 3 months since launch, so they will be hoping for the same result with Battlefield 1.

Details on the most popular classes were also released, with the Assault class being the front runner with 30%. The Scout was only marginally behind with 28%, then the Support class at 21%, whilst the Medic lagged behind at only 10%. The final 11% deployed as a tanker, pilot or cavalry class.

The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta launches next month, so it will be interesting to see how that fares against these numbers – I would be very surprised if it reaches the heights currently set by Battlefield though.
