If you thought grooming and preening was for women it’s time to wake up and get with the times! It’s all about the Metrosexual man these days – that’s a guy that grooms himself to look super hot or at least not like Homer Simpson and Barney’s love child on a bad day! According to one of our surveys women find men who groom more attractive and admit that they are more likely to sleep with them.
If you have started to read this and panic – don’t! We are here to be your guide and explain how you can be manly and super groomed at the same time. Trust us – the chicks will be chasing you from far and wide!
1. Chicks find the scent of aftershave incredibly arousing!
Whilst you may deem aftershave and fragrances for men as a waste of money, it will in fact make you much more desirable to women. The female sex are very sensitive to smell and an enticing fragrance will lure them in and make them melt! Not that we want to sound predatory, but smelling delicious and tasty can never be a bad thing. Ever caught a whiff of a women’s perfume and suddenly felt incredibly lustful? Well guess what – it’s the same the other way around too!
Rather than copying your mate though, pick something that suits you. You can text fragrances in most stores and many have experts available to give you advice on matching a good fragrance. Our top tip is to spray it on and then walk around for an hour to see how the fragrance sits on your skin. As the chemicals are released the top, middle and bottom notes are released which means the scent adapts as it heats on your skin. What smelt great in the shop may not do so an hour later!
2. Forget harsh soaps
That dry the skin and make you feel as tough as old leather to her delicate fingers! Invest in a good moisturising bar or shower gel, exfoliator and a moisturiser. You don’t need to spend much, Nivea do a great moisturisers for men which is only a few pounds and instead of flaking dry skin, you’ll have soft skin that she will want to caress all night long!
3. Find a good barber.
That guy who gives you a number 2 all over the back because he can’t blend hair – ditch him! A good haircut is worth it’s wait in gold and is something that every women notices. You are better off bald than having a haircut that doesn’t suit your face shape or is misaligned!
4. Don’t sweat the small stuff!
Seen a few silver hairs starting to appear? You’ll be surprised to learn that many women find a spattering of grey hair can make a guy look more distinguished and sophisticated. Avoid ropey die jobs and let your hair colour do it’s natural thing. After all, it doesn’t seem to have affected Sean Connery and George Clooney’s success with the ladies! You silver fox you!
5.Stay hydrated.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. More if you train. This will ensure you have more energy, keep your weight balanced and keep your skin clear. If you have a heavy night on the tiles ensure to follow with 2 pints of water and vitamin C before you crash! You’ll thank us for it!
6. Plucking good.
As you age you might notice random hairs start to sprout out of unusual places. This is a major turn off for most women unless they have a weird fetish for yeti’s! Invest in a good pair of tweezers and pluck those bad boys out!
7. Look after your smile.
Mouthwash is an essential and should be by your bathroom sink at all times. Plus you can opt for that garlic stuffed crust then mouthwash after safe in the knowledge that your death breath won’t have her running! A good quality electric toothbrush will give your teeth a nice gleam and look after those cavities! Don’t forget to floss too!
8. Cleanliness is next to godliness
So the grooming routine has been a success and you’ve managed to pull a real cracker! You kiss romantically in the doorway and you can feel your horn rising. You swing open the door of your apartment and are greeted by stacks of plates, old pizza boxes and your unwashed laundry. meanwhile your date looks on in horror and is already googling the number of a local cab firm before you can say “Sorry about the mess!”
If you are pretty useless when it comes to a mop and brush hire a cleaner. This will guarantee your hot date will end in explosions instead of awkward silences!
