As with every year , the 87th outing of the Geneva Motor Show back in March was the place to see the exciting debuts of superstar cars. Synonymous with the greatest in motoring expertise since its conception in 1905 you will always find not just the sublime but also the questionable.
Of course it is not just about worldwide debuts there are also the somewhat subjective matter of the tuned cars such as this Audi R8 V10 Plus which has been aggressively made over by ABT. You certainly won’t mistake this update with a regulation spec R8. The folds of the body kit and the preponderant air intakes have given it an almost combative feel.
Not content with the outer upgrade , the mechanics have had a punchy enhancement with new suspension, a stainless steel exhaust system and the loss of 50k in weight. The exhaust system increases the already raucous clamour from the astonishing V10 and the extra 20 bhp takes its total output up to 621 bhp.
So has ABT defaced a modern classic effectively gilding the lily or has this upgrade improved the Audi R8?
