AMG GT R Speed Demon

This is AMG’s latest model the Mercedes-AMG GT RT which debuted recently at The Goodwood festival Of Speed. The striking Emerald green car was greeted with enthusiasm from the crowd.

So what’s new? It is ten seconds faster than it’s predecessor! The R has a wide front grille which gives it a nicely aggressive appearance. This pays homage to the 300SL  – winner of the Carrera Panamericana Mexican road race in 1952. Below the chin a carbon fibre splitter is in place to increase downforce and give this bad boy more oomph. In fact there is a generous portion of carbon fibre and aluminum throughout to create a vehicle which is lighter and a good deal faster. AMG have worked some magic with the aerodynamics in the underbody using a carbon fibre element which pulls the car down towards the road giving it more force. It’s had two new turbo chargers and has 516 lb-ft of torque which result in  577 horsepower. The R has had quite the upgrade and features rear wheel steering  – a rather new and exciting feature which enhances the cars handling.

It has three driving modes Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ for on the track. We love the latest model here at Mens Stuff which summons up visions of a hungry alligator in stealth mode. If you like your cars a little more quirky than you can choose to have your seatbelts in a bright sunshine yellow. We’d say that the look of this car is more fierce and handsome rather than being a classic beauty. It has a great deal of character and certainly won’t disappoint on the track. This little demon is made for speed, it’s what it does best.

Chief Tobias Moers revealed that production numbers won’t be massively limited though of course they “do have a certain capacity.”

What do you think of the latest model? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
