So far we’ve had the Iphone, the Ipod, the Imac and now BMW brings us the iCar! Well not just yet, plans are under way and it should be ready in 5 years in 2021.
The iCar is an electric saloon car and similar in size to the 5 series. BMW bigwig Ian Robertson says that it will be “Our new spearhead for innovation and technology.”
The car will be a lightweight design and will be self driving. Robertson hinted at the cars capabilities stating that it will “have our next design steps”. Rumour has it that it is styled on the BMW Vision 100. More excitingly though it will use advanced technology which will improve driver safety. For example, the windscreen will be a reality display that superimposes lines on the road and hazards that are just out of vision.
In the next 5 years we are going to see a remarkable change in motor cars and the technology that they utilise. BMW will be at the forefront of this innovation no doubt and we are very excited to watch the developments.
