If your like your motor to be a monster then look no further than the new Chevrolet Camaro 1LE. Basically a ZL1 on steroids , the already quicker version of the well known unpretentious American Muscle car has been given an injection of passion and pushed its boundaries to be even faster. Compared to its predecessor the 1LE is 3 seconds faster than the standard ZL1. Carrying the same supercharged 6.2 litre LT4 engine it is mostly the changes to the aerodynamics that force the Camero to stick to the track. With a massive carbon fibre wing on the rear deck and a mix of air deflectors and dive planes on the frontal fascia the new and improved tire burner holds onto the road with a lovers touch , a very passionate lover.
Other ways to increase the speed without changing the engine include the Colorado ZR2 and Camaro Z/28 style trick dampers and racing car derived suspension. Losing weight of course improves the aerodynamics so in comes the thinner rear glass , fixed back seat and new lightweight forged aluminium wheels. All of these changes give it a lower kerb weight by an impressive 27 kg with 3.3 kg of that coming from the change in wheels alone…if that doesn’t make her slimmer of the week I don’t know what will.
