Amidst the anticipation surrounding Final Fantasy 16, recent discussions hint at the possibility of the game extending its reach beyond the confines of PS5 and PC. Originally exclusive to PlayStation 5 upon its launch last June, Square Enix has promised a PC port in the near future, with producer Naoki Yoshida indicating that the game is in its final development stages, teasing a playable demo on the horizon.

As eager fans await the PC release, speculation arises about potential expansions to other platforms, particularly the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. While rumors have circulated regarding a potential Xbox release, Square Enix’s commitment to keeping the next Final Fantasy 7 Remake installment exclusive to PlayStation casts doubt on Final Fantasy 16’s immediate arrival on Xbox hardware.

However, recent remarks from Naoki Yoshida offer a glimmer of hope. Speaking alongside Final Fantasy 16 DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka at PAX East 2024, Yoshida hinted at the team’s contemplation of expanding to other platforms beyond PlayStation and PC. While specifics remain elusive, Yoshida’s acknowledgment of the possibility sparks intrigue, although it’s important to note that such plans are still in the conceptual stage.

In the interim, fans eagerly await the release of The Rising Tide DLC in April, promising a thrilling journey to Mysidia to confront the legendary Leviathan. Additionally, an upcoming update patch on April 18 will introduce enhancements such as a refined user interface and customizable button layouts, further enriching the Final Fantasy 16 experience.
