GoldenEye: Source 5.0 is out now with official release trailer

Watching this trailer brings back so many good memories of one of the best video games ever created. GoldenEye: Source has been out a long time now, gradually getting better visual and performance upgrades over the last ten years, but this is the first update in over three years. It adds improvements like Strafe Running, Better Invulnerability and Visuals alongside an overhaul to the Weapons and Sound Effects, and the latest trailer really does show off a stunning HD recreation of the original. The game features 25 gloriously recreated maps, the 28 weapons from the original game, and 10 multiplayer modes, including a Red Dead Revolver & Perfect Dark Multiplayer mode!

Single Player is missing from the game, with an official FAQ reading: “”We have no plans to make single-player as we do not have the resources or sufficient number of developers to create it”. That’s a shame, I did love the Train level, however playing online multiplayer is such a brilliantly recreated fashion surely makes up for that! At least we can forget about the disappointment that was GoldenEye 007 Reloaded.

The game is free to download on PC, and thankfully the requirements aren’t too heavy; the recommended is Windows 7 or later with 4GB RAM, and was created using Valve’s Source engine.

Could this be the multiplayer to challenge Battlefield 1 this year? What was your favourite memory from GoldenEye 007?
