That is exactly what the new Halo Wars 2 launch trailer offers us, providing a cinematic introduction to Atriox, the Brute Chieftain who the Covenant can’t even contain. It’s not hard to see why, given he effortlessly takes down a group of Spartans, before hurling an Energy Sword wielding Elite across the room. He controls the rogue Covenant Faction known as ‘The Banished’, and it is the job of Captain Cutter and his crew aboard the UNSC Spirit of Fire, to put a stop to this deadly threat. Captain Cutter is a returning character from the first Halo Wars, with the game set right after the events of Halo 5.
The stunning cinematic visuals are being done by Blur Studio, the team behind those in Halo 2 Anniversary, whilst the rest of the game is the work of 343 Industries and Creative Assembly. You can jump into the action from February 17th with the Ultimate Edition early access, or worldwide from 21st February, exclusively on Xbox One and Windows PC.
