This sci-fi action movie is shot in the first person from the protagonists point of view. When Henry is at deaths door he is resurrected as an autonetic soldier who has lost his memory. He then becomes embroiled in a war with Akan, an evil war monger who is plotting to bio-engineer more soldiers for his army. Henry must find his wife whilst he struggles to stay alive.
We loved the trailer for this and it seems that style of gonzo shooting is becoming more popular at the moment. Hardcore Henry is shot in the style of a video game so the audience always sees from Henry’s point of view with enemies lunging towards the camera! This is a powerful technique which is used to draw the viewer in and keep you caught up in the action! Plenty of action is guaranteed, cockney gangsters with guns blazing, Russian spies and a couple of helpful allies!
Director Ilya Naishuller has taken a novel approach with this and with a seemingly interesting storyline, this is set to be a promising futuristic movie.
