Zelman Meats
Here at Men’s Stuff we always feel that the restaurants that try to please to many by offering a complex menu often fail to deliver anything to a truly good standard. That’s why we believe that Zelman Meats have the edge as they specialise in one thing and do it with precision and perfection.
Menu choices include rib, picanha and chateaubriand which are tender and succulent which makes Zelman’s one of the best steakhouses in London.
Oklava
This modern Turkish restaurant in Shoreditch offers authentic Turkish foods and more contemporary dishes cooked on real charcoal grills and in stone ovens to give that delicious smoked flavour.
A point of interest for us was the open kitchen where you can sit around a bar and see the food prepared in front of you. For us this is always a hallmark of a great restaurant and enhances the dining experience. On the wine menu is an array of Turkish wines which we found extremely moreish and complimented the Spicy Lamb Köfte and charcoal grilled prawns we selected in the most divine manner! We’ll be back for more no doubt!
Hoppers
Offering Sri Lankan inspired dishes in a cosy relaxed setting this popular eatery is going from strength to strength. Dishes are flavoured with coconut, fenugreek and fragrant Asian spices that will have your mouth watering. On offer are dishes for those with more sophisticated palettes as well as more simple options. Head down to Frith Street for a true taste sensation and cocktails spiced with cinnamon and cardamom among other tongue tingling varities!
The Ivy
The Ivy recently went under a revamp to celebrate it’s 100th Birthday. A frequent haunt of A list celebs, The Ivy is always packed out. We found the Ivy comfortable, the staff attentive and the food pleasing but until recently felt that the menu was a little tired and in need of a little creativity.
Most noteworthy for us was the new Asian graze and share area where diners can feast upon wonderful sashimi cuts and spicy tiger prawns. The revamp has breathed new life into a traditional and classic favourite and here at Mens Stuff we are keen to return.
Bellanger
The emergence of this french Corbin and King Brasserie in Islington offers visitors a touch of class and a finer dining experience.
Whilst dishes like tartes flambees (bread dough,crème fraîche and diced onions) may confuse those unfamiliar with French cuisines, the highly attentive staff are very helpful in talking you through the dishes and making excellent recommendations.
It was of course a hard job choosing our list of funky good slap up restaurants but these are all some of the best High Class London Restaurants 100% MENS STUFF APPROVED!
