The New Honda NSX

The Honda NSX has been hailed the ‘New Breed Of Supercar’ and with it having been in the planning and production stage for nine years, we are sure that we have something pretty spectacular on our hands.

It’s 3.5 litre V6 twin turbo gives 500bhp and electric motors that have 109lb ft of torque. There are also two front motors which produce 36bhp so that’s a combined total of 537bhp. It’s by know means a feather in the wind though and weighs 1,725kg which is a tonne heavier than Ferrari’s 488.  The NSX also has a nine speed gear box and hybrid systems for optimum handling. The body is mostly aluminium and the floor carbon fibre.  You can also opt for a carbon fibre rear wing and a fierce looking front splitter too!

Four driving modes are available, Sport, Sport track, Quiet and Track. Quiet is blissfully silent, Sport combines the motors and engine. When you slide into Sport+ things start to get a little more exciting!  Steering responses are much sharper and the car has a lot more stability and better handling. Expect quick gear changes, a beautiful throbbing hum from the car and a might surge of energy from it’s hybrid systems. Track mode is pretty superb too.  Braking becomes precision sharp and you don’t tend to notice the cars weight except a little on the corners, which can be rectified if you go gently on the throttle.

Here at Mens Stuff we love the low side skirts and the styling. It’s sturdy yet aesthetically pleasing.  We also love the classy interior with stylish comfortable seats and the use of leather throughout.

There’s no doubt that the electrics woven and crafted with great care only serve to improve the cars performance rather than creating merely noise.  It adds to the driving experience and everything is smoother and easier.

The verdict was unanimous in the Mens Stuff Office. We absolutely love it!
