The long awaited sequel to Independence day has finally arrived. This film certainly looks big budget with some rather flashy special effects. This time round the film has a much darker and serious feel to it.
To summarise, after picking up a signal from Earth, Aliens swoop down and try to destroy the planet. The United Nations are called in and the human race must face impending doom and destruction if they cannot find a way to end this alien war. It’s nothing we haven’t seen before, but the cinematography is quite dazzling and we are excited to see how this one maps out. Here at MensStuffApproved we were admittedly a little disappointed to see that Will Smith won’t be making a comeback in this movie and in fact his character has been killed off off-screen! So we do not expect any comedy moments or laughter from this film, more a fast paced action movie with a feel of anarchy! Armageddon!
There are mixed reports on Smith’s absence. Some claim he was to expensive and expected $50 million to return for the role of Captain Steven Hiller. Will smith refutes this and insists that whilst he would loved to have been in the movie, the filming dates clash with other projects.
We here at mens stuff all still think its a shame Will Smith is nit staring in this movie, as he epic, witty and always legendary, But even without Will Smith we expect this movie to be pretty epic.
