All you need to do is dial *3001#12345#* and press call. A grey screen will appear revealing additional information. This is known as field mode and one of the benefits is a signal strength bar at the top of the screen. Above -80 is average and anything below -110 means that the possibility of making a call is pretty non existent!
Next hack – dial *#06#. This brings up you IMEI number which you can use to block your phone should it be stolen.
Dial *#43# and this will tell you whether call waiting is on or off and once you switch it on will issue an alert when someone else is trying to get through.
Using *#43# will tell you whether or not call waiting is turned on. That feature allows people to queue up when they ring you, so that the phone can alert you if someone is trying to get through while you’re already on a call. Turn off again with #43# if you find call waiting a little unnecessary and annoying.
