Confirmed by Blizzard during their preview video at Gamescom, Junkertown is the new escort map coming to Overwatch.
Set in the Australian Outback, it is a land of lawless scavengers, and the old home of Roadhog and Junkrat, the dynamic duo who found themselves exiled after stealing from the Queen of Junkertown. The map comes complete with a room of gold, broken Omnics, and shantytown houses; a setting that looks to have come straight out of a game like Borderlands.
Gamescom attendees can try the map this week, though Blizzard is yet to confirm when the map will be released to everyone else. Blizzard also released a new animated short, showing some back story to the map. You can check that video out below.
