Wow , am I glad I am writing this not saying it out loud? I can’t even pronounce the name but here for your visual pleasure is not one, not two but three new Koenigsegg’s! All were recently shown at the Geneva Motor show and caused quite a stir.
The special edition of the Agera RS, aptly named after the mythical half lion half eagle beast the Gryphon comes complete with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine weighing in at a mere 1,395 kg which can produce a whopping 1,360 bhp. The bespoke detailing covers the body with flashes of 24 carat gold leaf including the carbon fibre highlights , stripes across the chassis, badges, engine struts and exterior! For lovers of bling this is the optimum auto.
The gold dusted interior is also swag appropriate with its gold thread stitching, ‘Gryphon’ stitched into the dashboard, polished carbon fibre and anodised aluminium. If there is still not enough gold for you then get your hands on the custom made carbon fibre racing helmet with its hand applied gold leaf decoration from their Angelholm based factory.
Unfortunately this beauty is not for general release as it has been bespokely made for an American customer. Other additions include the removable hardtop which is then stored under the front bonnet, super lightweight sound detailing, stability control to hold the owner tight to the tarmac, a hydraulic lifting system , carbon ceramic brakes and of course Apple CarPlay.
Let’s hope that the owner plans to take her out and not hide her away.
Koenigsegg have also finally produced the first two Regerars ready for customer delivery. Like the Agera RS they feature V8 engines though the Regera is packing much more heat into its 5.0 litres. An amazing 250 mph is achievable with 1,465 lb of power being sent directly to the rear wheels. Including Koenigsegg’s ‘Direct Drive’ system and three electric motors it produces a herculean 1,479 bhp.
One of these bespoke Regeras is resplendent in British Racing Green with hollow-core carbon fibre wheels and a sexy tan leather interior, this is a very classic combination and the vintage style juxtaposes perfectly with the bang up to date body. The second has gone for a more super car style with a red body , red and black interior, three spoke carbon fibre wheels and a clear CF centre section.
So which would you choose? The bling Gryphon, the classically styled Regeras or the sporty Regeras?
