Lexus have released this short and rather ambiguous trailer. The brand implies that they have developed or are working on developing a hover board. Perhaps it’s just a concept at this stage as that is not made clear in the trailer. This could be a clever marketing gimmick very similar to the hoax created by HUVr in 2014 when the company claimed that had invented a hover board and made a video using special effects to give the video an authentic feel.
If in fact Lexus were to invent a hover board that was capable of hovering for more than a few seconds and without the platform, this would be one of the most celebrated inventions since the internet. It’s not just kids that would love this, but also all of those who grew up with the Back To The Future films where this idea was first acknowledged. We can sort of envisage Quidditch style matches with sportsmen using these, grannies doing their weekly shop on their board and even the military using these. Of course at the moment this is all very far fetched and we can’t see that level of advancement for at least another 60 years. But as Lexus say “There is no such thing as impossible!”
