Resurgence is a fun, cheesy film, but there is no need to rush out to see it. It feels like Director Roland Emmerich tried to recapture some of the good ideas from the original film, but sometimes these just end up feeling a bit silly and cliche. There are some parts of the film that feel rushed and unfulfilled, while others feel stretched and unnecessary. On a positive note, the cast doesn’t feel lost without Will Smith, and the visuals and special effects are spot on. Overall I doubt the film will emulate the success of the original, which ended up being the highest grossing film of 1996, however I would say that it’s worth seeing, due to the fact it is amusing in places, and a good laugh for the viewers! And not wanting to give to much away but its left way open for a film number 3. Enjoy
