Mens Stuff Winter Driving Tips

As we find ourselves deep within the savage grip of winter it’s even more essential to keep your wits about you when you are on the road.

We have comprised some of the best tips from experts here at Mens Stuff on how to stay safe and protect yourself from the elements.

Take a duvet day.

Is there a blizzard swirling around outside? Time to make like a flake and chill out. Everyone thinks that there job can’t be done without them present, but you can’t do your job at all if you are in a hideous road accident. Instead make a brew, check out the latest awesome series The Grand Tour and chillax.

Make Like An Eskimo

Did your granny used to tell you that many thin layers of clothing is better than one thick one? She was right! Layer up with a vest, t shirt, fleece and rainproof coat….oh and trousers so you don’t get icicles in your unmentionables! Don’t forget your scarf and mittens and always pop a fleece blanket, spare wheel and supplies in your boot when venturing out in the snow. It could make all the difference if you end up stuck in an avalanche.

Winter Driving Tips

Be Prepared

Keep your mobile phones and devices fully charged, keep a shovel in your boot, a torch, a can of WD40 and a space blanket.

Of course if you live somewhere that it’s common to experience heavy snow then a visit to TreadHunter.com for some winter tires and a snow plough for the front of your car would not be a ridiculous idea!

If you do end up stuck in the snow and you are unable to make any headway in getting out, then you’ll be glad you threw in some car mags in the back to keep your mind off things, whilst you wrap yourself up in your space blanket and munch through your supplies. If you are stockpiling tins of food don’t forget your tin opener! Otherwise you can’t go wrong with a packet of protein bars and plenty of bottled water!

Be sure to stay safe this winter!
