Almost three years after the game released on Wii U and 3DS, the remaining Super Smash Bros. amiibo are finally due to release. Cloud from Final Fantasy, Corrin from Fire Emblem, and Bayonetta were shown off at the recent Nintendo Direct broadcast, and are due to release on July 21st in the UK, with two variants available for each character.
Although these amiibo were confirmed a long time ago, there has been no reason from Nintendo for the wait, which has led to speculation that they could coincide with a possible Super Smash Bros. title for the Nintendo Switch. With E3 coming up in a couple of months, it will interesting to see if this does turn out to be the reason.
Also due to release a couple of days later are three new The Legend of Zelda Link amiibo, which has previously been leaked via in-game files from Breath of the Wild. The variants are part of the Zelda 30th Anniversary range, and includes Link from Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.
These amiibo offer a range of items for Breath of the Wild, the highlight arguably being the Fierce Deity gear from Majora’s Mask. You can check out the available rewards below. All three are available for pre-order now from GAME in the UK, and have already filled their initial allocation of stock. Hopefully this time around Nintendo supply enough stock to cover demand, and availability doesn’t become an issue for those who actually want one of them.
Lastly, there were 4 more amiibo announced by Nintendo; one from Hey! Pikmin, which will tie in with the upcoming 3DS spin-off game, and three from Splatoon 2. Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl and a purple squid will be available on July 21st, and offer players extra costumes when scanned.
Which of these will you hoping to get your hands on?
