We all know those people who change their bag to suit their mood well now you can change your tyres as well with the Pirelli Colour Edition. You can pick the colour that suits your mood or outfit if you were so inclined. It is very simple to do, but only if you have a supercar on their list and have 19” tyres or above. These are not available for the boy racers in their souped up Corsa’s, we are talking high end only and with prices like these, you will need to have high-end funds to afford them. It’s very easy to select them on the website, choose your car from the drop down menu then choose your colour way, there is a choice of red, yellow, white and silver base colours, or you can choose to customise them yourself and have an almost unlimited selection of hues to pick from. By using the customise function you can make your car truly individual. The whole tyre is not coloured however, there are coloured stripes and lettering inside on the sidewall.
The tyres themselves are the ultra high-performance P ZERO’s which combine all of Pirelli’s knowledge from competitive motorsports and high-end sports car manufacturer which are perfect for top of the range sports and high-powered cars.
The price ranges from £1,840 for a set of 4 AMG tyres in one of the 4 regular choices to over £3,000 to customise a set of 4 for say a Porsche 911. It is seriously worth it though to stand out from the crowd at car meets and just speeding down the motorway. Having used the same technology that F1 use to identify compounds, Pirelli can now apply that to road cars emphasising the individual character of the driver and the uniqueness of the car. With over a 100 colour ways to choose from this extreme customisation maintains the performance of Pirelli tyres whilst maximising the style.
And that’s not all, starting this summer you could also have them upgraded to smart tyres rather than just being purely decorative. This new technology would see a small chip embedded inside the tyre which can collect data on such things as air pressure, load, damage and distance covered. This information is then fed back to the owner via an app connected to their Smartphone, we really can have an app for anything these days.
Just imagine the admiring glances you will get as you cruise through town in your prestigiously distinctive supercar.
