Porsche 911 gets a revamp in the GT3

So what is getting the Porsche paramours hearts a flutter about the 911 GT3? Is it the manual gearbox being reinstated to appease the purists? Is it the 4.0 litre engine over the 3.8 it replaces? Or is it even the rear wheel steering? Who knows but this updated GT3 RS is certainly gaining a following with those in the know. So how else does the new incarnation differ? Well the top speed is a fraction faster (1 mph to be precise) to 199 mph.

This au courant example has only a slightly altered engine from the 911 Cup and RSR racers and like the 1st generation 991 GT3 it revs to 9.000 rpm with the addition of lower friction and operating temperatures.

Many believe that Porsche are crazy to offer a manual transmission in this revamp however it certainly would make it more collectable in the future and could probably make it safer considering the manual would probably slow you down and increase concentration.

So what can you expect from the drive? Getting the best out of this extraordinary engine is simple with the PDK however with the manual you’ll need to know how to handle her. This is afterall a Porsche 911 so expect to corner like your on rails and be transported out of the stratosphere when your foot hits the ground, if you can find the space to really open her up you will be transported out of this world ! The screaming howl of the engine will make sleepy villages quake and everyone stop to look. The balletic engine flows through mid-end to an earth shattering crescendo when you accelerate to her fullest.

You truly can’t get better than the sensation of a 911 and the GT3 is no less expressive in its allure.
