Those crazy kids over at Tesla decided to race their latest model the S P90D against one of Quantas airlines Boeing 737-800’s. The race took place at Avalon airport near Melbourne along a distance of 3km. Obviously a jet engined powered engine is going to win hands down every time, but the S P90D certainly gave it a good run for it’s money on the runway!
This promotional stunt celebrated the two companies recent partnership.
The new Tesla model has been given a massive upgrade including new LED turning lights to increase visibility at night and on winding roads particularly. Tesla claim that the air filtration system removes 99.97% of exhaust pollution, bacteria and contaminants. Aptly named ‘Bioweapon defence Mode’ this feature protects passengers and sounds like something out of a science fiction film. When the zombie apocalypse strikes we know which car we’ll be opting for and fleeing to safety in!
A 17 inch touchscreen controls many of the cars functions. Sensors and GPS can be selected for automatic driving, saving you the stress of the journey. This is our favourite bit though…the Tesla can be commanded to sense the nearest parking space and even park itself! If you own one of these babies you no longer need to frantically scan the carpark for spaces and waste time awkwardly parallel parking. The Tesla will do it all for you. This really is the future!
