This is one cool collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull that you will want to know about. The two global brands have revealed their trailblazing new hyper car which has been given the code name AM-RB 001.
This dynamic lovechild of the two corporations incorporates the skills and ingenuity of both brands and they have promised to deliver a car that is groundbreaking. In fact so groundbreaking Red Bull have revealed that it will be even faster than an F1 racing car! Blimey!
Onboard are Aston Martin EVP, David King, Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer and Marek Reichman. This band of merry man comprises a hundred years of perfection with technological excellence!
Newy and Reichman are working on development to oversee all details and be certain that the AM-RB 001 is beautifully formed and with superb performance on the road and track.
A track only version will be built also which will focus on the driving experience and will be inline with LMP1 Le Mans sport’s prototypes.
The structure is carbon fibre and it’s been given aerodynamic curves to increase downforce. It will also be given a naturally aspirated V12 engine. Newey’s many years of knowledge has been brought to the table to ensure the vehicle is as light as possible to improve road speeds.
Christian Horner the Team Principal of Red Bull Racing made an impassioned speech celebrating the collaboration between the companies.“Our relationship with Aston Martin and the realisation of the AM-RB 001 is pioneering and borne of our synergies and desire to break new ground. The AM-RB 001 is the inspirational product of this collaborative spirit.”
Word has it that between 99 and 150 of the cars will be built at Aston Martins factory and will buyers can own one of these by 2018….that’s presuming that they have a spare £2.5million going spare!
So, like us you are probably wondering how the AM-RB 001 is going to achieve the kind of performance promised. At the moment it’s a total mystery but with some of the worlds leading car experts working on this we have high expectations. It’s also rumoured that the final product will be most similar to the 1994 McLaren F1, the difference being that the AM-RB 001 is a track car suitable for road use rather than a road car modified into a racing car.
One thing is for sure. This car is going to be absolutely mental – and you can drive it to the shops or work!
