Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Edition Content Trailer
Following the announcement earlier in the week that Rise of the Tomb Raider will finally be releasing on PlayStation 4 as the 20 Year Celebration Edition (after being a controversial timed exclusive for Xbox One), a further trailer has been released by publisher Square Enix detailing the content that is going to be included with the game.
Ron Rosenberg, the Co-Head of Studio at Developer Crystal Dynamics, stated: “This year we celebrate 20 years of the iconic Lara Croft. This provided the perfect opportunity for us to deliver a new Tomb Raider experience. With the addition of PlayStation VR support, you can play the world through Lara’s eyes for the first time in franchise history.”
The 20 Year Celebration Edition includes:
“NEW STORY CHAPTER – “BLOOD TIES.” EXPLORE CROFT MANOR TO RECLAIM LARA’S LEGACY
FIGHT HORDES OF ZOMBIES IN THE NEW “LARA’S NIGHTMARE.”
NEW CO-OP ENDURANCE MODE – WORK TOGETHER TO SURVIVE THE ELEMENTS.
NEW EXTREME SURVIVOR DIFFICULTY MODE FOR THE MAIN CAMPAIGN.
NEW COLD WEATHER OUTFIT AND WEAPON INSPIRED BY TOMB RAIDER III
FIVE CLASSIC LARA CROFT IN-GAME MODELS.
TWELVE NEW OUTFITS AND SEVEN NEW WEAPONS.

The press release states:
“Blood Ties, is a new premium DLC, which beckons players to discover Croft Manor in a new epic story mode. Players must then defend the manor against a terrifying zombie invasion in Lara’s Nightmare.”
Lara’s uncle disputes the ownership of the Manor,. She must explore the ground to find evidence that she is the true and rightful beneficiary, or lose her inheritance and her father’s legacy. Players can then practise their zombie slaying skills in the mode Lara’s Nightmare, a creepy haunted Manor in which players must face challenges and eradicate a sinister presence from the manor.
Blood Ties will have PSVR support, allowing us to explore the Manor from Lara’s perspective.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is available for the PlayStation 4 on 11th October. Existing Season Pass holders on Xbox One & PC will receive the Blood Ties upgrade for free.
