The documentary follows Abramovich’s rise from rags to riches.

Beginning with his childhood in the impoverished Siberia in 1966, Abramovich was orphaned by the tender age of two after his mother died from blood poisoning and his father endured a fatal accident with a crane. The youngster was alone and faced a tough environment in which he learnt to become a survivor.
He later escaped to Moscow and studied and sold just about anything and everything in a world where survival of the fittest was prevalent. His early life and environment could be compared to that of the Kray twins where poverty and violence were commonplace and there was a sense of every man for himself.

A natural born survivor the self made man made money on the black market and later began making deals in oil exports in the 1990’s. Further down the line he teamed up with billionaire Boris Berezovsky and took over Sibneft. Those who know him well claimed that it was his cloak and dagger deals, alleged offshore accounts, credit card deals, and various secret beneficiaries that assisted in Roman’s rise to riches and sparked the beginning of the tycoon’s empire.

Today Abramovich is worth $7.9 billion and is the 13th richest man in Russia. Many have insinuated that the Russian is a gangster with a history in Black ops. He has been linked with the KGB and also taken to court for money laundering. He has a finger in pretty much every pie from oil to steel and is the owner of Chelsea Football club.

Whilst we in no way advocate criminal activity here at MensStuff, this is a fascinating documentary into one of the worlds richest men and he is certainly some kind of genius and we do love a good rags to riches story!
