Here are some of the latest designs in fashion for Spring 2016 and we can honestly say that here at Mens Stuff we are aghast at some of the atrocities on the catwalk currently! Whilst designers have aimed to bring back traditional colours and shapes, we think that some have spectacularly missed the target! Whilst not all of it is our cup of tea we do like some of the 50’s inspired styles. If you always like to be at the forefront of fashion trends check out this guide!
Bomber Jackets
Trendsetters recommend donning 1950’s style bomber jackets in dark colours for a casual look. We much prefer the smart casual blazer look above which would look pretty groovy with a white t shirt and jeans. However the way it has been teamed on the model with navy PE style shorts and socks leads us to believe that in fact this fellow has been doing the naughties with some one’s missus and has had to climb out of the window, slide down the drain pipe and steal the nearest items off the washing line. Emulate at your peril!
Overalls
Casual? Trendy? Simplistically awesome? Alexander Wang certainly thinks so.
A look best showcased by mechanics, small children and those serving custodial sentences. Experiment with denims and deep greens. Best steer clear of orange tones if you want to avoid looking like an escaped convict!
1950’s inspired shirts.
Play it safe with a casual polo shirt, you can go too far wrong with one of these, although they lack excitement.
Short shorts.
Gucci and Prada have brought back shorts which are pretty miniscule. Great for holidays on the beach and to keep cool during hot weather. Blues, yellows and greens are currently popular with some opting for darker tones for the evening. Context, location and physical attributes are all important here. If you have spindly legs like Mr Muscle and opt to wear these on a night out we can guarantee that you won’t be getting lucky!
White chinos
This is a bold look that not all can master, but the right chinos teamed with the perfect upper garments can look effortlessly stylish!
Chinos look great with bright colours and navy blues. Avoid teaming with all white t shirts and shirts unless you are on your way to play a game of tennis. Instead consider funky cable knit tank tops over a light shirt for a more vintage look or a button shirt and brown belt for a more debonair look.
The key thing is to rock your look and be comfortable and confident in what you wear. One thing that will never go out of fashion is confidence!
