In the latest Star Wards Rogue One a group of rebels team up for a deadly mission. They must intercept the secret Death Star plans before it can be used in the wrong hands to execute the Emperor’s evil plans.
This is a stand alone Star Wars film and The Hollywood reporter claimed that much of the reshooting that has been ordered is to off set the dark tone of the movie and suggested that the tone should be ‘lightened’. Another unknown source claimed that the tone needed to be matched to The Star Wars trilogies – what? So Hans Solo’s tragic death at the hands the hands of his own twisted wasn’t dark? Some of us sobbed our little eyes out you know…in the back of the darkened cinema, snivelling into a hanky whilst pretending we had a cold! Tell anyone and we will have you executed!
We loved the last Star Wars movie here at Mens Stuff, despite the long, overly drawn out and painful shots of Luke Skywalker and his daughter staring at each other for what seemed like eons, so we have good hopes for this one.
The trailer paints a tale of a dangerous journey into the unknown where good and dark forces come together in an epic battle. The cinematography is compelling, the soundtrack is emotive and there is a good dose of Storm Troopers and other deadly engineered beasts to wreak havoc upon the rebels.
It’s a bit of a wait for the release of this one we are afraid. It’s not out in the UK until December 2016. On the plus side this does mean a Star Wars movie release at Christmas time – what could be a better present than that!
