Scientists are currently researching the prospect of terraforming Mars and turning it into a mini Earth.
This is their theory – they would use detonators over the poles and melt the frozen CO2 to create an atmosphere. Sunlight would be trapped to warm the planet and melt the polar ice caps which would create a further increase in heat. Creatures could be bioengineered to make the soil rich and fertile and suitable for growing foliage and trees which would release oxygen into the atmosphere.
Watch the video to find out what else is possible to transform this dead planet into one that is abundant with life. We have to admit – this video made us well up a little bit. Some people might call it trying to play God, but it is in our nature to journey, discover and create. And who is to say that this is not the creators intention (if you are religious for arguments sake) to have man create life on a new planet. The possibilities and the potential for discovery are endless.
There is however a slightly grim message behind all of this. One of the main reasons for such a voyage would be finding another planet to inhabit when our sun starts to die in 5 billion years time! Or perhaps sooner should we somehow manage to destroy this planet through nuclear war.
We already have a beautiful planet which is not too far from the sun, and not too close, it’s just right. This planet is full of amazing plant life, beautiful creatures and really could be a Utopia if it was not governed by greed and capitalism and destroyed by war, corruption and greed.
The world has enough food for everyone yet there is a divide between the rich and poor which is forever becoming wider. Some do not have enough food to sustain them, some are sick with disease. The Earth and mother natures holds the answer to cures for just about every ailment, yet Big Pharma sells us medicine that makes us sicker and the government poisons our water and food with toxins and heavy metals. Society is brainwashed and taught to conform from an early age.
We are trained like robots to go to work to pay for things we don’t need and pay the rest to the government in taxes. From road tax, to VAT, PAYE, housing tax, council tax, tariffs, fines and congestion charges plus a whole multitude more. Meanwhile the Earth is drained of all of it’s resources, animals are killed, the rain forests are chopped down, globalisation is destroying lives, people are homeless and dying and this once glorious planet has become a concrete jungle that is dredged for it’s nutrients every day.
If we take care of this Earth we don’t need another one just yet. Whilst we love the idea of terraforming Mars, the sinister reasons behind this are quite depressing. We could take care of the planet, nurture it, take care of the animals and ensure that no one goes hungry.
The question is, how do we have enough money for such voyages and indeed wars when we don’t have enough money to save the hungry and the dying? We’ll leave you with that food for thought. Let’s protect our planet whilst we can and look after one another. The Sun isn’t going to start dying for 5 billion years, so let’s learn how to look after this planet before we make our way through the galaxy causing destruction!
