The World’s First Unisex Condom: A Malaysian Innovation

A Malaysian doctor has pioneered the world’s first unisex condom, marking a significant advancement in global contraception technology. This innovative condom, known as “Wondaleaf,” is crafted from medical-grade adhesive material and can be worn by both men and women.

Dr. John Tang Ing Ching, an obstetrician and the creator of Wondaleaf, was inspired to develop this unique condom after observing rising rates of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). He recognized the need for an alternative form of contraception due to the high costs and side effects associated with hormonal contraceptives for women.

The Wondaleaf condom is made from polyurethane, a material commonly used for wound dressings. It is thin, flexible, and offers enhanced protection against pregnancy and STIs. Additionally, it is reversible, providing versatility in its use. When worn, it is so comfortable and unobtrusive that users can hardly feel it.

This product represents a new option in the realm of contraception, aimed at preventing unintended pregnancies and protecting against STIs. Wondaleaf has undergone extensive clinical research and testing to ensure its safety and effectiveness. It is set to be available for purchase through the company’s website starting this December.

Each box of Wondaleaf contains two condoms and will be priced at 14.99 Malaysian Ringgit per box.
