At Men’s Stuff Approved we are proper foodies and absolutely adore gourmet food, In the office we were all fighting for the job of compiling a Top 5 London restaurant’s list, which also offered the added perk of extended lunch breaks in some of London’s finest restaurants! It was a tough call picking our Top 5 as the competition was fierce…but finally we came up with our 5 favourites!
1: Dinner By Heston
The restaurant has a clean contemporary look with a relaxed ambient vibe. The restaurant features glass doors which reach to the ceiling. This allows diners the luxury of looking onto the spotlessly clean metallic kitchen. This is where the gourmet gastronomic delights are created with tender loving care. The softly lit restaurant has wall length windows and boasts fantastic views of Hyde Park. The food itself is out of this world and guests can dine on just about everything! From fish dishes such as Halibut, through to Spiced pigeon and succulent prime cuts of Rib Eye steak. All are cooked to absolute perfection. If one is lucky enough to dine at the infamous Chefs table, they can sample 8 incredible courses which have been exclusively designed by Executive Chef Ashley Palmer-Watt. These will drive your taste buds wild!
Guests can even dine in privacy in Heston’s luxury Tudor inspired lounge. Here you will be treated to a team of experts waiting on hand to assist and advise you on a luxurious selection of sumptuous feasts and wines. The team are very accommodating and can even create special menus according to your tastes and budget. A must visit! 100% Men’s Stuff Approved!

2: Zuma
Knightbridge’s answer to a cultured and authentic dining experience. Zuma has a sophisticated and clean look to it with polished laminate flooring and flawless glass walls with a comfortably minimalist approach. Guest can choose from seating in the main part of the restaurant, at the Sushi and Robata counter, the semi private Tosho table or in complete privacy in the Kotatsu rooms. Diners can also enjoy The Sake Bar which boasts over 40 varieties of Sake and exotic and tempting cocktails made with fresh fruits that will have your mouth watering. The menu is simply exquisite and we opted for the Sea Bass, Jumbo Tiger Prawns and Roasted Lobster, which led our taste buds into a frenzy of delight! The meals are presented simply and lightly which left room for some of the delicious desserts. We treated ourselves to the Yuzu Raspberry Cheesecake and the Green Tea and Banana Cake which was served with a fragrant coconut ice cream and rich and sticky toffee sauce – belissimo! 10/10 – we are going back next week!

3: Nobu Berkely
A stylishly swish venue which offers a glamorous dining experience with deliciously alluring dishes that offer diners both excellent quality and choice. Many of the dishes are prepared in a Japanese wood burning oven and every dish is hand crafted to perfection. This is without a doubt one of absolute favourites!

4: Gordon Ramsey’s Maze Grill Mayfair
With it’s natural and simple design, the emphasis at Mayfair’s Maze Grill is without a doubt on the impressive menu that had us drooling as soon as we entered the restaurant. We were happily over whelmed by the appealing aromas that greeted us. The vast menu offers mouth watering appetisers, rare breed signature steaks, fragrant grilled meats and fish cooked to perfection, and an array of sushi and sashimi dishes which are a culinary delight! We wanted to make this one our local – if only we lived nearer!
5: Bibendum Restaurant:
Bibendum offers both comfort and opulence with it’s attractive ostentatious décor, spacious layout and stained glass windows. This venue is really a sight to behold and offers the cultured pallet an exquisite treat with it’s enticing array of heavenly appetisers and main dishes. We can highly recommend The Oyster Bar which serves tasty oysters, staff that expertly using the oyster shucking knife, in an open style kitchen. Those oysters which were highly addictive to our taste beds and luscious platters of seafood, fine champagne and many tempting desserts and cheeses. A real taste of luxury without the pretentiousness!
