The fabulous Italian toast, “cento di questi giorni”, translates as “100 of these days” and that is the perfect sentiment for today’s effulgent festivities at the Bedfordshire Italian Car and Bike day held in conjunction with The Sharnbrook Hotel and #petrolheadonism.
The glorious July sunshine graced the idyllic Bedfordshire countryside with its presence as the Sharnbrook hotel grounds were taken over for the 11th annual Italian Car and Bike day and Lambo Party.
This family orientated car show has never disappointed and this year was no different. Everywhere you turned your eyes were assaulted with a colourful display of Supercars from Alfa Romeos to Ferraris and of course a whole sea of Lamborghinis. Even Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghini and Enzo Anselmo Ferrari themselves would have been in awe of the horsepower on display. With every colour possible the myriad of cars appeared as a glittering expanse of motoring supremacy.
The hot smell of the petrol mingled with the delicious scents coming from the BBQ and pig roast where you could enjoy burgers, hot dogs or massive pork sandwiches complete with sweet apple sauce, creamy stuffing and crispy crackling. Once you had fed and watered yourselves the children could play on the bouncy castle and slide while the parents chilled on the grass and listened to the tunes which joined the music of engines revving to produce the perfect soundtrack to the day.
The entirety of the grounds were covered in a beautiful display of Italian motoring expertise, with such esteemed Supercar owners as Waleed Sabri, Chig Chig Patel, Ifas, Ethan Mehmet, GPR Huracan and of course Sharnbrook’s own Ciro Ciampi bringing their cars down for the delectation of the viewing public. If you got too warm in the glorious sunshine you could chill out and have a meal in the restaurant or, if you had booked in advance, you could watch the Austrian Grand Prix live on the big screens in the Amalfi Suite.
On site you could purchase #petrolheadonism merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs and tea towels. There were a lot of children (including our own young reporter @dylan_supercar_dude) running around in the t-shirts, for Ciro and all involved this is what it is all about, the future generation of petrol heads and the supercar society.
