World’s First Passenger Drone

Do you commute on a daily base and find squeezing onto the tube with seconds to spare, your face stuffed into someones armpit a bit of a grind? Now picture this! A world in which you could fly your very own craft in absolute comfort. In the not far too distant future this could be a strong possibility…well if you have a large wad of cash to spare it could be. You just need between $200,000 – $300,000 in your pocket and this dream could become a reality!

The worlds very first drone made for passengers has been developed by Chinese company Ehang. The drone was revealed in Las Vegas at the CES show to an audience of gasping onlookers.

The Ehang 184 can fly for 23 minutes and reaches speeds of up to 60mph. Unlike the electric car that requires 8 hours of charging, this baby needs just two hours to charge up! The drone can reach an altitude of 11,500 feet, which is pretty impressive stuff if you ask us!

So what do you get for your money other than easy transportation in comfort and a showy vehicle that makes you look like the coolest customer on the market?

A reading light (lets hope it has a cruise mode on it – oops where did that building come from!) You also get air con to keep you completely cool so you arrive at your location calm, collected without a single bead of sweat on you! We are a little bit gutted that you don’t get a super sexy in-flight attendant in the package – maybe that will be included with the next prototype!

This project has a very poignant story behind it. Ehang, the creator lost two friends in separate air flight crashes. From that moment he dedicated his life to creating a completely safe drone that would revolutionise air flight. It looks like Ehang has completed his life’s wish and in many years to come he will become a pioneer of air flight, remembered by a many for his great work.
